Bird Log 9th June 2008
Today I went to the Stockton Sandspit at the Northern end of the Stockton Bridge over the Hunter River, Newcastle. The bird species that I saw were:
- Great Egret
- Gull-billed Tern
- Red-necked Avocet
- Australian Pelican
- Willy Wagtail
- Pied Oystercatcher
- Black-winged Stilt
- White-faced Heron
Great Egret

Camera settings were : 1/400 second, f/9, ISO400 with a 400 mm lens. The camera was a Canon 40D.
The Great Egret has a scientific name of Ardea alba.
Gull-billed Tern

Camera settings were : 1/640 second, f/11, ISO400 with a 400 mm lens.
The Gull-billed Tern has a scientific name of Sterna nilotica.
Red-necked Avocet

Camera settings were : 1/500 second, f/8, ISO400 with a 400 mm lens.
The Red-necked Avocet has a scientific name of Recurvirostra novaehollandiae.
